What Would You Dare To Wear?

It’s funny, that way we make so many superficial decisions about people based on the way they look.  It’s a hard thing not to do.  How you look, what you wear, and even how you do your hair sends a lot of messages out to the people around you.  Women are especially good at this kind of stuff, and it’s surprising how accurate they can be with it.  Sure, they say you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but then why do so many of us put so much effort into making sure our personal cover is just right.  I guess I can’t help but notice it, as I see my three teenage daughters growing up.  They’re each very different and each obviously place a different value on their appearance.

It’s always interesting though to see some of the stuff people wear out in public.  We were out to a restaurant the other day, and I swear the one waitress looked like she was wearing lingerie to work.  Nothing too revealing I mind you, but I couldn’t imagine any of the women in my life wearing it out in public.  I do admit to being pretty careless, if not oblivious to what I wear, but that’s probably got something to do with my age and gender.  Other times, I do care a bit more.  Although with all the women around my place, it’s practically impossible to get out the door without being a least moderately presentable.
