The Types of Games We May See on Project Natal

Although Project Natal hasn’t even been released yet, or a price set, it is definitely fun to speculate about what kind of new and revolutionary games we will see.  if you haven’t heard about what Project Natal is, let me get you caught up to speed here.  It is an accessory coming out for the Xbox 360 that will be able to track full body movements thanks to the dual camera components.  I also have voice recognition that will allow you to be able to speak voice commands to the games.  Although there is no official Project Natal games list yet, it is still fun to speculate about the possibilities.

I think that Project Natal exercise and fitness games will definitely be popular.  Microsoft is definitely trying to market Project Natal to more casual gamers and since a majority of women aren’t gamers but do like exercise videos and such, then this will be a perfect match.  it will be able to give you the in-home comfort of not having to do your workouts in public, but also the real-time feedback that you can only get from a personal trainer.  it will be the best of both worlds, and it will be able to do things that the Wii Fit is just unable to do.

I also think that sports games will definitely become popular for use with Project Natal.  Hockey games, being able to do the exact motions of shooting the puck, and other such things are pretty fun to think about.  Imagine being able to be in the huddle on a football game, and to be able to shout out the plays with natal’s voice recognition capabilities, and then line up on the line.  Say “Hike!”, and drop back, and step to the side to dodge the incoming defender trying to sack you, and then throw a nice pass to the receiver, which you take control of, and run in for the touchdown!

At this point it is all speculation, but definitely a possibility and I am excited to see what game developers come up with to entertain us with this revolutionary new way to control video games.
