If you’re in the market for a waterproof MP3 player that you want to use while swimming of for some other physical activity involving water, look no further than the Finis Swimp3 Waterproof MP3 Player. While other MP3 players may be cheaper, starting at around $40 and up, only the SwiMP3 offers direct sound transfer throught the bones of your head! That’s right, this is the one feature that sets the Finis SwiMP3 apart from all its competitors. Until some other manufacturer decides to make use of this technology, The SwiMP3 is kind of the only real choice that swimmers have.
Other models may or may not work, and that there is the problem. While some swimmers do use other waterproof MP3 players, reviews for these players are mixed. Some of the many problems associated with, for instance, the Dolphin Waterproof MP3 Player, are that the earphones fall out while swimming. This seems to be the most common problem and one that is pretty serious, if you look at the aggravation this is sure to cause when it stops you mid-workout. After all, don’t we buy these products to make life more enjoyable? Another problem, and this is no less serious, is that the products are cheaply made. To add to this, many of them also have parts that are made exclusively for that product which are not replaceable. This means that if, for instance, the headphones on such an MP3 player break, you have to buy a whole new unit!
If you DO get one of these players because you find the Finis SwiMP3 too expensive (somewhere over $100 depending on where you buy it), do some research first and see what people have to say. Differnt models of waterproof MP3 players work differently and have different features, but the important thing is that you purchase one with good sound that won’t break after a few uses.
