The Space Wolves are a group of miniature ferocious warriors that are based on the novel entitled Space Wolves by William King. This group of warriors is known to be very fierce, possessing abilities which make them more powerful than any normal human being. Based on the background of the novel, they are an unstoppable fighting force, making them a good choice for an army in the exciting war game, against contenders like Space Marines, which is another type of miniature unique soldiers in the playable and fun filled army game that many love to play.
Ranks of the Wolves
Space wolves begin as Blood Claws, these warriors are known to be hot headed and are ready for just about any fight. They specialize in close combat, and tend to lead most of the assaults. Normally they are equipped with chain swords and bolt pistons, and tend not to have a jump pack as a basic equipment. In addition they tend to fight on Marine bikes and use close combat weapons. The next rank of the Wolves is the Grey Hunters. These are function as the Space Wolves’ tactical backbone, and are able to fight in different situations. The Long Fangs are next in line; they are the ones which control the heavy weaponry. Wolf Guards are the great warriors which have the task of leading small groups of Space Wolves.
Winning Tactics
The main priority when it comes to tactics is securing the midfield. Space wolves specialize in short range battle, and so it is important that the distance between your bolters and melta guns is as short as possible and this is crucial. The fact of the matter is if you are in charge of the middle of the board, almost everything will be in your reach. The grey hunters are the heart of your army. Aim and strive to drive your Rhinos filled with Grey hunters to the middle of the board where you will now release smoke launchers. These Rhinos are very strong and so should keep your grey hunters safe.
A Rhino is best to use as it is very strong, can be used for cover, and your grey hunters can use their melta guns to fire from the top hatch. So when you get them to the midfield, have the Rhinos parked sideways and be prepared to get out of them and charge at anything that comes too close. Knowing when to get out and when to go back in will come with experience. If the Rhinos get blown away, you can always disembark your Grey Hunters on either side and have them still ready for battle. Bear the objective of the game in mind at all times and be prepared to blast your opponents or wipe them out completely if that’s the only way for you to secure your victory.
