Staying active and fit is the secret if you want to age gracefully. However, in today’s fast paced world, were there are always planes and deadlines to catch; it is difficult for one to find time to exercise. Then again, there is no need to worry! There are now short and fast workout alternatives that you can try out.
You can apply these short and fast concepts to almost any type of workout regimen there is. A typical over 40 bodybuilding or bodybuilding over 50 program lasts around sixty to ninety minutes, but now you can cut that time short and still get that much needed health and energy boost your body badly needs. Take a look at some of these examples.
Let us say you like running. You normally run around two to five miles per day at a moderate pace. What you can do instead is include sprint training in your usual workout. Have a fifteen minute session that consists of a ten to forty yard sprint. Adding speed and power to your training will help enhance your cardiovascular system.
When you are training with weights, try mixing in exercises that involves lifting your own body weight as well like bear crawls, pull ups and push ups for example. Take a short rest in between your sets to challenge your body and elevate it to new heights.
The more you shock and challenge your system the more muscle mass you gain. This will also take away the possibility of your body reaching a point of plateau.
Short and fast workouts are a wonderful idea to incorporate into your usual routines. It not only provides your body with that much needed break it needs from doing long routines, it also keeps your motivation at high because it gives you something refreshing and new to look forward to. This is truly a great workout option for people over 40 and over 50.
