Nothing revolutionized duck hunting in the past 20 years than the advent of the motorized decoy. This decoy mimics the flashing wings of a landing duck and is absolutely fantastic to get ducks up close and personal. The Mojo floater is the next generation of this type of decoy and expands the usability of it to places that weren’t feasible even 5 years ago. Using this duck decoy in your spread is a great way to ensure that you have the best opportunity to get birds up close and personal to your hunting blind.
So what makes this Mojo floater so unique? Unlike the standard Mojo Mallard and those similar to it (Edge Expedite’s Lucky Duck is another popular model), the floating Mojo does just that, it floats in the water. While the original spinning wing decoy rests on a stake, this decoy can float all by itself in the water. You may not think this is a big deal until you duck hunt water deeper than 3 feet. After that depth it is nearly impossible to get the original spinner to work. Sure you can buy a post stake or similar to use as an addition and place it in deeper water, but as soon as you hit deeper than 8 feet you are cooked for sure. The Mojo floater acts much like a standard water keeled decoy in that you place it into your flock and pitch a weight to keep it in place.
Duck hunters have been looking for that one edge that sets them apart from their competition for years. The spinning winged decoy was a great add for those that had one, and still is today. However, if you can’t use it due to depth of water the Mojo floater is the best option to get your back into the game. If no one else has one you have a definite leg up on the competition and that means more ducks in your face and game bag!
