They say “Rome was not built in a day”. Travelers to Rome will find living instances of this statement. There are masterpieces strewn in all parts of the city. I read Pete’s travel tales and he recommends you to take a walk through Rome which is identical to taking a walk through millennia of history. For a traveler going to Italy, this can be an overwhelming experience with so much to see and do.

This holds true even for the locals who cannot get over seeing the city fully. The first place to visit would be the Foro Romano or the Roman Forum, which is situated amid the Palatine and Capitoline hills in a snug valley. Going through the travel tales acquaint you with the place as being an archaeological destination accessible from the Colosseum, the monolithic amphitheater that is capable of accommodating 55000 spectators for the gladiator fights, chariot races etc.

The Roman Forum had been the commercial center of the city as well as a religious and political hub. Going to Rome should also incorporate the Piazza di Spagna, the Spanish Steps, which are filled with flowers in spring. The streets, leading to and from the piazza, offer some of the finest shopping experiences to the travelers. Don’t miss out the Trevi Fountain and once there, do make a wish!

You should devote a single day to visiting the Vatican, St Peter’s Cathedral, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum. The best way out of reaching there is through the Ponte Sant Angelo, the beautiful angle-clad bridge. The Vatican is the seat of Roman Catholicism. In my travel tales, I’m going to tell you about St Peter’s Cathedral where you will come across Michelangelo’s Pieta.

The Vatican Museum houses numerous treasures of the papacy. The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is again one of Michelangelo’s masterpieces.
