Everyone would come across a situation where you are required to work at heights. For example, you may want to fix a bulb, paint your room or to clear shelves located at a height. Working at heights needs great care because there are so many dangers associated with it. You could slip and fall which could lead to other complications. For avoiding such occurrences there are several options for working at heights. People use these for safety purposes.
Ladder: Most often people feel that the traditional ladder is unsafe when compared to a step ladder. It is actually very safe because it has just two points of contact on the ground. These two points have to be at the same level and stable. Ensure that the ladder is placed at a proper angle or else it may slip off from the support. The disadvantage with the ladder is that there is no proper place to keep your tools while you are working on top of it.
Step ladder: One of the most common and popular methods of working at heights is to use a step ladder. The advantages include easy set up and dismantling after work. But you need to have a perfectly flat surface to use it. The disadvantages include requiring a flat surface to keep the ladder and that its stability decreases when height increases. So it is more favorable for working indoors. The height of it ranges from 3 – 10 feet.
Scaffold tower: The safest way to work at heights is using a scaffold tower. Especially, the aluminum scaffold tower, which is mobile. You can easily assemble and dismantle it also. It is good for both outdoor and indoor uses. But if you have only a small task you may not require this. However, if you have bigger tasks like painting your house etc it is very useful.
