The minimum education level after which one qualifies to be a police officer is high school level. A Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree is also essential. The law enforcers will find that they have to pursue law enforcement related subjects such as legal issues, criminal justice, human behavior, computer systems and many other subjects that are law related. Police officer applicants with an advanced education level are generally preferred to those with only basic education.

Body and mental fitness is crucial for anyone aspiring to be a police officer. It is imperative therefore, for applicants to be sports people and to engage in various physical activities that will ensure they are physically fit. With reference to moral fitness, being on record having engaged in crimes such as traffic offences, drug pushing and other such criminal activities will normally have their applications rejected. Law enforcers should carry themselves in an upright manner.
