A Few Movies With Magic

Many movies that have come out in the past several years have featured many different types of magic or magical related subjects. In fact, for over 50 years now, magic, of one form or another, has been featured in thousands of films all over the world.
The Harry Potter movie series is all about magic. The main storyline is about a special boy finding out that he is a wizard and leaving his “normal” life to join all the upcoming witches and wizards at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This series of magicmovies is packed with magic everywhere you turn and surprises around every corner. It has a lighthearted, but sometimes serious look at magic that is child appropriate, but there are many movies out there that have a darker side.
The Craft was a movie released over ten years ago. This movies main focus was the magical powers of four high school aged girls. Everything is really lighthearted until one of the girls goes all wrong and everything becomes a three on one battle, good magic versus evil. This movie shows the much darker side of magic as well as the bright and beautiful sides as well.
When it comes to kids movies with magic
in them, you don’t have to look further than Walt Disney. Over the years, from their first animated movie, Walt Disney has included magic in over half of the movies they’ve created. There are the very obvious magical movies like Fantasia and Cinderella. There are also the less obvious, like The Lion King and Monsters Inc. Most Disney movies have some form of magic in them.
Recent movies like Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, and even the X-Men series have forms of magic in them. It depends on ones definition on magic to decide on what you see as magical. Either way, magic is all over the big screen and even television series today. It’s something that the general public has come to accept. Even though some would boycott movies like the Harry Potter series saying that magic is worshiping the devil, the same people allow their children to watch the classic fairy tales like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White, all of which contain magic as well.
